The 2003 Patriot League Freshman of the Year showed no signs of a sophomore slump putting the Mountain Hawks on the Board in the seventh minute.
“We came out well in the beginning,” said coach Manny Oudin, adding that the early goal seemed to take some of the pressure off the team.
The Bobcats tied the game in the 30th minute on a goal by Kirsten van de Ven.
“We had plenty of chances in the first half,” Oudin said. “But we couldn’t finish and we let them back in the game.” Lewandowski’s second goal of the game, a left footed blast from the top of the penalty area in the 36th minute gave Lehigh the lead going into the break.
Van de Ven tied the game for Quinnipiac in the 53rd minute.
The Mountain Hawks battled fatigue in the second half, but mustered enough energy to pull out the win when Karilyn Anderson’s corner kick was headed in by Lewandowski, seven minutes into the extra session.
