Lehigh set to play Columbia on Monday evening

12/6/2004 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

Bethlehem, PA - Lehigh welcomes Columbia to Stabler Arena this evening as the Mountain Hawks look to bounce back from Saturday’s tough road loss at Stony Brook.  Lehigh still has yet to win a game on the road this season, but has also not lost a game at home and enters tonight’s contest riding a 16-game winning streak.  The Mountain Hawks are 27-3 all-time under Bily Taylor inside this building, and 2-0 overall versus Columbia under Taylor.  Tonight is Columbia’s first road game of the season, but it was not supposed to be as the Lions game with Hofstra was cancelled last Wednesday due to the weather.

Sophomore Jose Olivero has had the touch recently, averaging 23 points per game in his last three.  The Fairfax, Virginia native had one of the best performances of his young career in Lehigh’s game versus Dartmouth lighting up the Big Green for a career-high 29 points, including 3 of 5 from three-point range and 12 of 15 from the charity stripe.  In the Mountain Hawks victory over Albany, Olivero hit four of eight from the field en route to a team-high 17 points and pulled down a career-high seven boards, while against Stony Brook the guard scored nine of Lehigh’s first 11 points, and 17 first-half points en route to a game-high 23 tallies

While Lehigh has struggled on the road this season, the Mountain Hawks have flourished inside of Stabler Arena.  Here is a look at the difference in numbers when Lehigh plays at home and on the road this season.
