Bethlehem, PA – Following its first win away from home since February 7, 2004, Lehigh concludes its four game road trip on Sunday afternoon in New York versus the Wagner Seahawks as the Mountain Hawks look to pull their record even on the season. The Brown and White has won only one game on the road this year, while Wagner’s lone win came at home. The Mountain Hawks defeated Towson on Wednesday evening in Maryland by a score of 64-61 behind the strength of a 25-5 run to begin the contest. Wagner has dropped seven straight contests following a tough 56-55 loss to Stony Brook on Thursday evening. Lehigh is 1-1 versus the Seahawks in Billy Taylor’s tenure.
The Mountain Hawks have been hitting the three-point shot of late, having sunk 27 shots from beyond the arc on 40 percent shooting in their last three contests. Lehigh’s season high in trifectas is 10 which it has done in both of its last two games (Xavier and Towson).
Sunday marks the Mountain Hawk’s 14th game in the Empire State under Billy Taylor and third of five this season. Lehigh has struggled in New York, losing five of its last six contests, including both games so far this year (Long Island, Stony Brook). The last time the Brown and White won a game in New York was at Army on February 20, 2004 when Austen Rowland scored 23 points en route to a 60-45 victory in West Point.
Sunday’s tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 from Wagner’s CSI Sports Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 1230 AM and 1320 AM with Matt Kerr providing the commentary. Due to NFL football, the game will be on tape delay starting at approximately 4:30.
