Mountain Hawks back in action on Wednesday

12/14/2004 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

Bethlehem, PA - Following an eight-day lay off for finals, Lehigh returns to the court on Wednesday evening, welcoming the Eagles of Eastern University from St. Davids, PA to Stabler Arena.  The Mountain Hawks saw their 16-game home winning streak come to an end on December 6 to Columbia, but are still 27-4 all-time inside of this building under head coach Billy Taylor.  The Eagles, out of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) arrive in Bethlehem with a record of 3-4 and are led by third-year head coach Matt Nadelhoffer.  Eastern returns four starters from a season ago in a year in which it went 12-15 overall.

Despite losing it’s last game inside of Stabler Arena, Lehigh is still very tough to beat at home under Billy Taylor.  Here is a look at the numbers to prove it:

Record             Pts/game         Pts allowed/game        Rbds/game      FG%

27-4                  70.8                  60.9                              36.7                  45%

Lehigh has been able to look to its bench in the early going this season, and not lose a beat on the court.  The Mountain Hawks top reserves (Neptune, Smith, White, Gilfillan and Anderson) are averaging 55 minutes per game, while contributing 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

Wednesday’s game tips off at 7:05 from Stabler Arena.  Tickets are available at the arena prior to the start of the contest.
