Bethlehem, PA Lehigh seeks its third consecutive win on Tuesday evening as the Mountain Hawks welcome the Great Danes of the University at Albany to Stabler Arena. Lehigh is coming off of a 60-50 victory over Dartmouth at home on Saturday night, giving the Mountain Hawks their 15th consecutive victory inside the building, having won those games by an average of 12 points. The Brown and White is 26-3 all-time under Billy Taylor at Stabler and 2-1 versus teams out of the America East conference in his young career. The Great Danes arrive in Bethlehem following a heartbreaking 66-65 loss at Wagner on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Mark Porter made a driving layup with one second remaining to lift Wagner to the one-point victory. Albany was led by Lucious Jordan’s 13 points on the afternoon.
Sophomore Jose Olivero had one of the best performances of his young career in Lehigh’s last game versus Dartmouth. The Fairfax, Virginia native lit up the Big Green for a career-high 29 points, including 3 of 5 from three-point range and 12 of 15 from the charity stripe. Olivero also added a career-high four steals and season highs in both rebounds and assists.
Lehigh’s starting guard tandem of Joe Knight and Jose Olivero are averaging 27.5 points this season, just behind the league’s second-leading scorer Matt Bell (21.2) and the Army backcourt.
