Bethlehem, PA – The Mountain Hawks played three close, high scoring games against out of conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson Wednesday night; but they lost all three. Lehigh dropped its sixth straight match, by scores of 30-28, 30-26 and 30-24. The Mountain Hawks fell to 2-16 on the season while the Knights improved to 7-12.

Lehigh was in each of the three games, which all went down to the wire. In a similar way, all three were extremely tight, with FDU being able to muster several more points in the end.

“One of our goals was to cut down our service errors,” said Coach Amanda Moran. “But the receiving errors were the difference in the match.” Lehigh had only seven service errors on the night, but gave up 12 aces to the Knights.

Michelle Schwendenmann led the Mountain Hawks with 15 kills and 12 digs. Nikky Barnes and Jill Racketa chipped in defensively with 12 and 11 digs apiece.

Sharon Becker led Fairleigh Dickinson with 14 kills.

The Mountain Hawks return to the court on Friday night, when they resume Patriot League play against arch-rival Lafayette. First serve set for 7:00, the game will be broadcast live on the Lehigh website at lehighsports.com
