Mountain Hawks come up short against Bucknell

Games one and two were games of runs. Bucknell raced out to an early lead in game one utilizing a 7-0 run in the process. Down by 8 Lehigh mustered a run of its own, getting within one at 20-19, before Bucknell put the game away with a 10-2 spurt.
The Bison grabbed a hold of game two with a 12-2 run. Bucknell took advantage of Lehigh’s errors, the Mountain Hawks had a negative hitting percentage in the second game.
Game three was the closest of all games, a back and forth affair before Bucknell went on a late run to close out the match.
“After last night it was disappointing to return to old form,” said coach Amanda Moran.
“We put in so much mental preparation during the week, but we couldn’t find the same focus tonight,” Moran said.
Michelle Schwendenmann led all players with nine kills. Kathleen Lafferty chipped in with 22 assists and nine digs. Jackie Leahy had seven kills for Bucknell.
