Bethlehem, PA – The Lehigh women’s soccer team has announced the hiring of Erica Walsh as a graduate assistant coach. Walsh becomes head coach Manny Oudin’s second graduate assistant and third assistant coach.
Walsh comes to Lehigh from Dartmouth College where she served as the team’s head coach for the past three seasons. While at Dartmouth, Walsh led the Big Green to a 37-15-2 overall record. Walsh was also very successful in Ivy League competition, posting a 16-4-1 mark, while leading the Big Green to three consecutive NCAA post-season births. Walsh’s teams also finished within the top 20 of the NSCAA poll during her first two seasons.
"We are fortunate to have her on staff here at Lehigh," said first year head coach Manny Oudin. "She has experienced a tremendous amount of success as the head coach at Dartmouth. She understands the demands of being a student athlete at an institution that requires both a strong academic background as well as an athletic one."
Prior to serving as Dartmouth’s head coach, Walsh was an assistant for the Big Green from 1998-99. Before venturing north, to Hanover, New Hampshire, Walsh was a graduate student at Bucknell.
A former member of the under 17 national team, Walsh played her college soccer at William & Mary in Virginia. The Tribe finished within the top 15 nationally during her junior season and won the Colonial Athletic Association title. During her senior year, William & Mary had an even more impressive season, finishing 11th nationally and again winning the CAA championship. Individual accomplishments for Walsh include having been named team MVP two consecutive years, a two-time All CAA player and a Mid-Atlantic All Region selection as a senior.
