Mountain Hawks drop opener at Stetson tournament

DeLand, FL - The Mountain Hawks fell to Stetson 3-1 Friday night in the opening match of the Stetson Invitational Tournament in DeLand, Florida. Game scores were 25-30, 30-24, 30-28, 30-18. With the loss Lehigh falls to 1-8 on the season, the Hatters are 2-3.

The Mountain Hawks came out strong in game one winning 30-25, but the Hatters rallied to take the next three games.

Michelle Schwendenmann led the Mountain Hawks with 16 kills. Defensively Lehigh had 4 players record double figure kills, led by Kathleen Lafferty's 13.

Kira Smedley led Stetson with 18 kills.

The Mountain Hawks return to the court tomorrow morning against the Owls of Florida Atlantic. Gametime set for 10 AM from DeLand, Florida
