Bethlehem, PA – First place Lehigh held off Bucknell at Stabler Arena by a score of 68-61 for its sixth straight win. The victory puts the Mountain Hawks over the .500 mark for the first time this season and improves their record to 11-10, 8-1 in the Patriot League. Lehigh's eight league wins also matches the school record, set by last year's bunch. With the loss Bucknell drops to 9-12 overall and 4-5 in the league.

Lehigh came out firing and went up by as many as ten in the early going. Sophomore Jessica DePalo, who scored 10 of the team’s first 18 points, led the team. Senior Anne Tierney also had a solid half, by registering seven points and nine rebounds. However, after their fast start, the Mountain Hawks cooled off and trailed the Bison at the half, by a score of 32-27.

Coming out of the locker room, the two teams battled back and forth before junior guard Carli Toliver put together a run of her own to put the Mountain Hawks up for good. Toliver hit four second-half three-pointers en route to 15-second half points and a game high 18 to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Tierney finished her day with solid numbers that included 13 points and 19 rebounds. DePalo wound up with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and junior Jana Ransom contributed 11 points and 5 rebounds.

Bucknell was led in scoring by Kate Franks with 17 points. Lehigh did an excellent job of holding Bucknell’s Molly Creamer, who entered the game as the nation’s leading scorer at 27 points per game, to 14 points on 7-of-20 shooting.

Lehigh returns to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Washington, D.C. to take on American University. Game time is slated for 3:15 p.m.
