Stony Brook downs Mountain Hawks

Bethlehem, PA – Despite junior Anne Tierney recording her fifth double-double of the season, Lehigh lost its fifth consecutive game losing to Stony Brook by a score of 74-61 on Wednesday evening at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks fell to 4-8 on the season while the Seawolves improved to 6-4 overall. Tierney scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in recording her 30th career double-double. She was 6-of-12 from the floor including a perfect 2-of-2 from behind the arc. Kelly Berk scored a career high 10 points in just 12 minutes of play. Chantal St. Laurent had a solid night defensively recording five steals to go with six points and five assists. The Mountain Hawks struggled from the field shooting just 36% on the night. Sherry Jordan led all scorers with 22 points and was one of four Seawolves in double figures. Jordan was 9-of-15 from the floor and recorded seven rebounds a pair of assists. Theresa LoParrino added 20 points and five assists while Erika Shipley scored 12 points and had four rebounds. Danielle DeGiorgio chipped in 10 points to round out the Stony Brook players in double figures. Lehigh returns to action on Saturday evening when it travels to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on the 18th ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 from Carmichael Auditorium.
