Bethlehem, PA – Jana Ransom scored a career-high 21 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Lehigh to a 67-58 victory over Columbia. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Lehigh which evened its season record at 3-3. Columbia’s record dropped to 3-3 and the loss snapped a three game Lion winning streak. Anne Tierney scored 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Billi Ford chipped in with 10 points. Megan Bramlette led Columbia with 11 points and Patricia Kern chipped in with 10 points. Neither team shot particularly well as each connected on 36% of their field goal attempts. Lehigh outrebounded Columbia 43-29 and recorded 12 steals. "We played well in the second half, especially defensively," head coach Sue Troyan said. "We still have some things to work on, but this was a step in the right direction. We have to be patient because we have very young team, but everybody is working hard and we’ll continue to improve." Lehigh returns to action this Wednesday at Stabler Arena against Binghamton in a 5:30 tipoff.
