Bethlehem, PA – In a contest that featured 13 lead changes, Lehigh fell to Boston University 75-71 in the championship game of the fifth annual Christmas City Classic Sunday afternoon at Stabler Arena. The Terriers improve to 4-1 with the win, while the Mountain Hawks drop to 2-2 with the defeat.

The Mountain Hawks were paced once again by junior All-Tournament team member Anne Tierney. Tierney finished with a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore Carli Toliver sank 4 three pointers, and finished the contest with 13 points. Sophomore Jana Ransom added 11 points for Lehigh. In addition to Tierney, junior Cat Nicholson also made the All-Tournament team.

Despite committing 26 turnovers Lehigh kept the game within grasp. Both teams made several trips to the free throw line in the physical contest. The Mountain Hawks were 20-30 at the free throw line, while the Terriers shot 18-25 from the line, including sinking several key free throws down the stretch.

BU was paced by sophomore Katie Terhune, who scored a game-high 24 points in only 23 minutes of action. Terhune played only three minutes in the first half while battling through early foul trouble. Terhune was named the Tournament’s MVP after scoring a two-day total of 42 points. Marisa Mosely also scored 15 points and pulled down seven boards in Sunday’s win.

"We knew going in that [Terhune] was going to be tough to stop," said Lehigh coach Sue Troyan. "We made too many mistakes, but those are things that can be corrected."

The Mountain Hawks return to action Wednesday, November 28 as they travel to Quinnipiac. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00.
