Lehigh suffers worst loss of the season

Hamilton, NY – The struggles continued for Lehigh on Wednesday night as the Mountain Hawks dropped their seventh straight, losing to Colgate 84-52 at Cotterell Court. It was the largest margin of defeat for the Mountain Hawks this season and their eleventh straight loss at Cotterell. With its last win coming on January 12th over the Raiders, Lehigh looked get back on track against Colgate but struggled from the outset. Colgate (13-9, 3-6 Patriot) took a 19-11 lead early in the game and never looked back leading by as much as 34 points in the second half. The Raiders scored at will on the Mountain Hawk defense while Lehigh struggled to find an offensive rhythm. Lehigh (4-18, 1-8 Patriot) struggled from the field shooting just 37.5% overall and 9.1% from behind the arc. Matt Logie was the only Lehigh player to reach double figures scoring 11 points. Logie shot 5-of-12 from the field and added five rebounds to the effort. Eric Heil finished with seven points, two rebounds and five blocks. Ra Tiah chipped in seven points and Alex Jensen added five points and three rebounds in the losing effort. Colgate saw four players in double figures led by Howard Blue and Mark Linebaugh who each finished with 14 points. Blue pulled in six rebounds and Linebaugh added a rebound and assist. Pat Campolieta scored 12 points and pulled in five rebounds while Dave Hardy rounded out the Raiders in double figures with 11 points. Lehigh returns to action on Saturday evening when it hosts Navy at Stabler Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 with the Mountain Hawks looking to avenge a 92-85 double overtime loss to the Midshipmen the first time around.
