Corvallis, OR – Despite a 21 point effort by junior Matt Logie, Lehigh fell to Oregon State 78-55 on Monday afternoon at the Gill Coliseum. The Beavers recorded their 1,500 victory with the win, becoming the first Pac 10 team to accomplish the feat. Lehigh (3-9) held an early 4-2 lead until the 15-minute mark, but Oregon State (8-4) soon began to find its groove. The Beavers held a substantial lead throughout most of the game but Lehigh hung around and didn’t quit. The Mountain Hawks cut the lead to 15 with 14:30 to go on a bucket by freshman Eric Heil. Lehigh then came within 13 on a layup by junior Alan Goff but a pair of three-pointers by Adam Masten and two free throws by Philip Ricci got the Beavers back on track and extended their cushion. The Mountain Hawks cut the lead to 16 with just over four minutes to go but could not get any closer. Logie scored 14 of his 21 points in the first half and finished the game shooting 7-of-12 from the floor. He connected on 3-of-6 attempts from behind the arc. Junior Matt Crawford played a strong second half, scoring just four points but playing excellent defense. Sophomore Ra Tiah continued to impress scoring seven points, pulling down four rebounds, and dishing out four assists. Sophomore Alex Jensen scored six points and had three steals while Goff and Heil each had five rebounds apiece. Oregon State had four players in double figures led by J.S. Nash with18 points.
