Olivero shoots his way to Freshman honors

            Bethlehem, PA – Jose Olivero has been named the Patriot League Freshman of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  Olivero averaged 17.3 points in three games last week, including a career-high 24 against Harvard and 17 against No. 3 UConn.  His production helped pave the way to a 2-1 record, getting the Mountain Hawks back to .500 on the season at 3-3.

            On the season, Olivero is now averaging 11.3 points on the season, second best on the team, and is shooting a team-leading 89% (23-26) from the foul stripe.  He has led the team in scoring the past three games, coming into Monday night’s game at Columbia.  Jose is the first Mountain Hawks to receive a Patriot League award this season.  Lehigh’s game at Columbia is set to tip-off at 7:00, and can be heard live in the Lehigh Valley on 1470 am and on Lehigh’s website at www.lehighsports.com.
