Finally home, the Mountain Hawks host the Sheridan Duals

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh returns home after three duals on the road, hosting the 19th annual Sheridan Duals at Stabler Arena. Rutgers, Rider, and American will round out the field, as the teams will compete and honor the legacy of legendary former Lehigh wrestling coach Billy Sheridan.

The Mountain Hawks will be competing in their first EIWA matches of the season, after going an impressive 4-1 in non-league action to start the season.  Included in those victories were triumphs over No. 4 Michigan and No. 15 Central Michigan, and their only blemish was a last-minute defeat to No. 6 Iowa State.

Lehigh’s opponents on Saturday are just beginning their dual seasons for the most part, with a combined record of 0-2 between the three schools. The Mountain Hawks hope to continue their success at the Sheridans since it went to a dual format.  In the three years of the duals, Lehigh sports an 8-1 record, with their only loss coming to Ohio State in 2001.

The match against Rutgers is scheduled to start at 10:00am, with American up next at 12:00 and Rider at 2:00.  The match against Rider will be broadcast live in the Lehigh valley on 1230/1160 WEEX, and audio can also be heard through Lehigh’s website at www.lehighsports.com.
