Lehigh looks to extend its winning streak when it welcomes the Delaware Valley Aggies into Stabler Arena on Wednesday evening for a game that will help the Mountain Hawks tune up for their three game road trip. Lehigh is coming off of a dramatic game against Columbia last week, in which freshman Jose Olivero nailed a three-point shot with seven seconds remaining to lift Lehigh to a 60-57 victory. Olivero scored a game high 23 points, as he again led the Mountain Hawks in scoring. The Fairfax native has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week each of the past two weeks for his efforts in the last several games. Delaware Valley arrives in Bethlehem struggling, having lost six of its seven games this season. The Aggies have been competitive however, as they have battled each opponent to the wire. Leading the way for the Aggies will be freshman Javon Alston, who is averaging 12.1 points per game this season. This will be the first time ever that these school face each other, and will be a reunion of sorts for Lehigh assistant coach Bob Simmons who was the head coach at Delaware Valley for two seasons before coming to Lehigh. Wednesday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 from Lehigh’s Stabler Arena. The game can be heard live on WKAP-AM (1470) in the Lehigh Valley, and around the world on the Internet at Lehighsports.com.
