Lehigh falls to Team Nike in exhibition

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh dropped its exhibition opener to Team Nike by a score of 84-80 on Saturday night at Stabler Arena. Freshman Jose Olivero poured in 27 points in his collegiate debut, which included six three-pointers, and he also handed out three assists. Lehigh led the game at halftime by a score of 45-41, and shot 49% from the field for the first stanza.
Freshman Kyle Neptune also reached double figures for the Mountain Hawks as he netted 12 points on the evening, and he also grabbed two rebounds. Senior Ra Tiah chipped in with nine points, while junior Earl Nurse cleared the glass a team high nine times for the Mountain Hawks. Leading the way for Team Nike was a duo of 18-point scorers, which included Lionel Armstead, and former Kansas Jayhawk standout Jeff Boschee. For the game, Lehigh shot 39% from the field, while Team Nike hit 58% of its shots.
Lehigh opens its regular season on November 21, when the Mountain Hawks play host to Long Island at Stabler Arena. Game time is set for 7:30.
