Coming off of their first win of the season on Tuesday night, the men’s basketball team will take to the road for the first time this season for a pair of games in Connecticut. On Saturday, the Mountain Hawks will play against Sacred Heart, a team that just defeated Patriot League member Army by a score of 55-51 on Tuesday. Sacred Heart is led on offense by senior guard Maurice Bailey who is averaging 15.5 points per game this season. The Pioneers (1-1) and Lehigh will tip-off from the Pitt Center in Fairfield at 2:00.
After Saturday’s game, the Mountain Hawks will travel to Hartford to play against the number one team in all of America, the Connecticut Huskies. The Huskies are led by preseason Player of the Year candidates, juniors Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon. Okafor is averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds per, while Gordon is scoring at a 25 per night clip, including a career high 37-point effort against Nevada. The Huskies will be in New York over the Thanksgiving break to compete in the Preseason NIT at Madison Square Garden, before returning home to face the Mountain Hawks. Tip-off is set for 7:00 from the Hartford Civic Center. Both games will be broadcast live on Oldies 1470 WKAP and also on the Lehigh website. The game with UConn will be televised live on ESPN Regional TV.
