Mountain Hawks pull out broom, sweep Lafayette

For the men, Joey Beagan swam to a victory in the 200 back (1:55.89), the first time the men have won the event in this meet in six years. Beagan also was victorious in the 200 IM, in a time of 1:58.71. In the 500 free, Chris Caywood picked up a win in a time of 4:52.35, while Grant Flothmeier also took home a win in the 200 breast (2:10.69).
The Lehigh men dominated the distance events, as the 400 medley relay team of Beagan, Grant Flothmeier, Ross Green, and Matt Titko (3:30.41) led the charge for a Mountain Hawk sweep in the event. Patrick Ryan also won in the 1 and 3-meter diving events.
The Lehigh women impressed throughout, picking up nine victories in thirteen events. For the second straight week, Heather Ford and Amanda Warrick won at least two events, with Ford taking the 200 free (1:58.14) and 200 fly (2:10.01) and Warrick winning the 1000 free (10:36.97) and 500 free (5:14.92). Ford also swam on the winning 400 medley relay with Julie Mitchell, Linsey Kokal, and Rebecca Hiro (4:05.07). Caitlin Fiedler won her first race of the season in the 200 back in a time of 2:12.37, as did Jenny Orellana in the 200 breast (2:30.33). Linsey Kokal added to her win in the medley with a solo victory in the 50 free in 25.43. Finally, the 400 free relay team of Kokal, Hiro, Dana Berkowitz, and Betsy Balaguer capped off the night with a triumph in a time of 3:40.98.
