Lehigh tips off its season tonight at Stabler Arena against Long Island. Both teams have played one exhibition game in the preseason, with the Mountain Hawks falling to Team Nike and the Blackbirds defeating the 320 All-Stars. Lehigh and Long Island both lost their leading scorer from a season ago, but return several key players who saw significant playing time in 2002-03. Senior Ra Tiah and junior Nick Monserez saw the most action last season for the Mountain Hawks with 46 starts between the two. Monserez averaged almost four points a night, and was third on the team in steals with 29. Tiah pumped in over eight tallies per game and dished out 3.7 assists, good for second on the team. For the Blackbirds, senior Raymond Edwards started 25 games, averaging 10 points and six rebounds along the way. Friday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 from Lehigh’s Stabler Arena. The game can be heard live on WKAP-AM (1470) in the Lehigh Valley, and around the world on the Internet at lehighsports.com.
