Bethlehem, PA - Lehigh welcomes Bucknell to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 for a Patriot League showdown as the Mountain Hawks look for their third consecutive win. Lehigh is coming off an impressive 4-1 win over Longwood on Sunday at home to improve its record to 5-5 on the season. The Mountain Hawks have already won more games than last year, and have won four of their last five overall.
Against Longwood, senior captain Blaire Goodwin scored two goals and picked up an assist, which followed a game-winning goal in double overtime and assist performance against Columbia on September 26. Goodwin leads the team with seven goals and 17 points. Junior Dana Griffin also had a big week, as she netted the first two goals of her career, one each against Columbia and Longwood. In addition, sophomore Maureen Harrington scored her third goal of the season against Longwood and junior Sheila Clabby and senior Kirsten Wyche picked up assists in the victory.
Seniors Wyche and Jenna Walsh have helped anchor the Mountain Hawks defense all season long, which has not allowed an opponent to score more than one goal in the past eight games. Junior Jeanine Hoff and sophomore Meghan Gove put together two solid performances in cage for the Mountain Hawks as the two combined to stop 12 shots in the two victories.
The Bison arrive in South Bethlehem having won their last three games by a combined score of 13-4, including a 3-2 victory over Patriot League foe Lafayette. Sophomores Kelly O’Brien with five goals and Kirsten Nilsen with five assists lead Bucknell offensively on the season.
The game will be broadcast live on Lehigh’s website.
