Bethlehem, PA – Junior goalkeeper Erin Iwaskiewicz was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, winning the award for the first time this season.  Iwaskiewicz recorded her career-fifth shutout of the season on Sunday, as Lehigh played Colgate to a 0-0 tie.  Iwaskiewicz has won the award at least once in each of her three seasons at Lehigh.

“It’s a great honor for her,” said head coach Manny Oudin. “She and the defense played so well this weekend, it’s a shame they didn’t come out with at least a win. But aside from eight minutes on Friday, they played nearly flawless defense.”

Iwaskiewicz sports a nifty 1.01 goals against average, which leads the Patriot League. She and the Mountain Hawks will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Philadelphia to take on Penn. Game time is set for 2:30.
