Lehigh levels archrival Lafayette

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh defeated archrival Lafayette by a score of three games to one to improve the Mountain Hawks record to 14-8 on the season, 5-2 in the Patriot League. The win is Lehigh’s fifth in a row and ninth out of its last 11. Lafayette falls to 5-15 on the season, 0-7 in the Patriot League.
Lehigh jumped all over the Leopards in the first game with a 30-16 victory and then came back and defeated Lafayette 30-22 in the second game. The Leopards then came back and squeezed out a 30-28 win to pull within one game, but the Mountain Hawks came back with a fury and won the last game 30-22.
Senior Jeanette Singleton led the Lehigh attack with 39 attacks and 15 kills, and received help from fellow senior Katie Dukatz with 20 attacks and nine kills. Freshman Michelle Schwendenmann had an outstanding night with 29 total attacks and 11 kills.
Lehigh gets right back to it tomorrow night when they welcome the Pirates of Seton Hall to Taylor Gym. Game time is slated for 7:00
