As a freshman … appeared in 68 games … totaled 11 blocks on the season, all of which were block assists … tallied 55 kills and 47 digs … In high school … Captained team her junior and senior season … All-District performer on the court in final two seasons at McNeil… Three-time Academic All-District honoree… also lettered in track and field, where she was district champion and regional qualifier in the high jump … school record holder for the high jump … member of the National Honors Society and a Texas Scholar medal winner.
Why Lehigh?: “I wanted to be in a place where I could play the game I love, get the best education possible, and have some fun in between the two. Lehigh offers the perfect combination of those things and has a picturesque campus. After visiting the university once, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.”
On Coach Maurer: “She’s a total firecracker. She has awesome energy that makes it impossible not to have fun at her practices and she brings a lot of experience to the table. As a team, we’ve already seen phenomenal improvement since working with Coach Maurer and I’m sure we’ll keeping heading upwards under her direction. I am very much looking forward to putting the jersey back on a playing for her.”
On playing volleyball at Lehigh: “Our team has steadily improved in the spring and I can only see that trend continuing into the fall. It’s exciting to think about the complete shock on the faces across the net next year when it comes time to face our Patriot League opponents. I’ve never playerd with a group of girls more willing to put it all on the ling. With Coach Maurer there to push us, we can definitely accomplish some amazing things.”
