Godshall is a freshman defenseman from West Chester, PA. Before Lehigh, Godshall was a four-year varsity starter at the Episcopal Academy, earning All-League honors every year and eventually taking over as captain. He set the tone early by leading the team to their first league championship his freshman year and continued to anchor four straight deep playoff runs, as well as honing his game with the Philadelphia Little Flyers at the 18U level.
