The 6-foot 9-inch 240-pound big man averaged 18.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.9 blocks per game on 69% from the floor and 39% from three as a senior. Alvey was selected to the AP and IBCA First Team All-State for his efforts, with his 130 points he garnered in voting being the most received by any player in all four classes in Illinois. Alvey helped lead his team to a 32-5 record as a junior and 33-4 record as a senior, making back-to-back Elite 8 appearances with losses to the eventual state champion in both years. Not only are his accomplishments impressive on the court, Alvey is an accomplished student as well, being named valedictorian of his high school and a member of the National Honors Society.

COACH REED ON ALVEY
"We welcome Hank to Lehigh. Hank has soft hands, good footwork and a frame that will continue to develop. We believe Hank's combination of size, ruggedness and skill will make him an excellent contributor to our program," said Reed. "One of the most impressive things is that he makes winning plays and understands the game. Those are great qualities and should help translate to our team's success. Hank is also an excellent student who has excelled in his high school experiences. Coming from a family of educators, I know he is embracing all that Lehigh can provide for him academically."
