Brett Reed begins his second season as an assistant coach at Lehigh. Prior to being at Lehigh Reed served as the top assistant at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina for two seasons. Reed was an integral part of the coaching staff that led the Panthers to the Big South championship game just two years ago.
      "Brett is a hard-working, disciplined, hungry young coach," said Taylor, set to enter his second season as the Mountain Hawks’ head coach. "He possesses a great knowledge of the game, and will be able to use that to build a strong relationship with our players. He will be valuable with recruiting, continuing to attract quality prospects."
      Prior to his stint at High Point, Reed spent the 1999-2000 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where Taylor served as an assistant.
      Reed began his collegiate coaching career at Oakland (MI) Community College where he was an assistant from 1995-97.
      Before starting his collegiate career Reed was the varsity head coach at the Canterbury School. In 1994-95 he led Canterbury to the regionals of the Florida High School Athletic Association State Tournament.
      A native of Waterford, Michigan, Reed attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where he contributed at point guard and helped lead his team to a conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance. Reed graduated with honors earning his bachelors in Literature in 1995. Reed earned his Master’s at Wayne State in 1998 where he received the prestigious Thomas C. Rumbell Fellowship. That prestigious honor has enabled Reed to receive his Doctoral Degree in Instructional Technology with a cognate in Sports Administration.
      Reed and his wife Kindra reside in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
