Spectator Guidelines
Most people that are following a golf tournament are aware of the rule of etiquette. Remember to stay out of sand bunkers, not to make loud or distracting noises or motions, and finally avoid getting in the line of play of, not only the group that you are watching, but also all other groups on the golf course.
The USGA Rule Book and the NCAA/Golf Coaches Association of America Hard Card for Tournament Play both specify that only coaches are permitted to give advice during a team competition. The NCAA also has rules that prohibit coaching of any kind from persons not on that school’s official coaching staff. In order to ensure that parents and spectators do not inadvertently violate these rules we are asking the following:
- All spectators are to remain on cart paths and in the rough. Please cross the fairways at 90-degree angles.
- All spectators are to remain 25 feet from the competitors at all times.
- All spectators are welcome to cheer and encourage the participants but do not hold conversations with them, as this can be considered giving advice.
Spectator Carts - Spectator carts are not permitted unless warranted for medical purposes. Saucon Valley Country Clubs cannot privately rent carts to parents/fans for the championship rounds unless they present a medical purpose for the cart.
