Mulvihill Golf Learning Center Policies & Weather Protocol

WELCOME TO THE MULVIHILL GOLF LEARNING CENTER

  • Use of this facility is for the Lehigh Community that includes students, faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers and local area. All facility users under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an authorized user 18 years of age or older.
  • The following groups have priority for use of all Golf Learning Center areas:
  • Scheduled intercollegiate activities and practices
  • Scheduled events - clinics, camps, meetings, etc.
  • Lehigh Community - of students, faculty, staff, alumni and local area
  • Unauthorized golfers using the facility will be treated as trespassers by the facility management and campus police. Access to or usage of any area of the golf facility is limited to normal hours of operation. Special events, inclement weather, or the academic calendar may impact hours of operation. Unauthorized access is strictly prohibited. For enforcement purposes, violators of this guideline will be subject to the University's trespass policy.
  • Unauthorized personal instruction is prohibited at any area of the golf facility.
  • Each area of the golf facility (tee box, putting green, chipping/bunkers) may have additional policies or guidelines which govern the particular area.
  • Golfers are expected to comply with all policies and guidelines which govern the particular area in which they are using. Failure to comply with any policies or guidelines may result in removal from the facility and loss of usage privileges on a temporary or permanent basis.
  • All areas must be reserved in advance with the Mulvihill Golf Learning Center management office for all organized activities, scheduled events, and team practices. This space is normally used for open golfing practice.
  • Proper attire and footwear is required (i.e. shirt, shoes and footwear must be worn at all times) when engaged in an activity. No metal spikes or other footwear detrimental to turf quality.
  • The Golf Learning Center staff has the authority to terminate any activity and remove individuals or teams from the facility that violate building or program policies.
  • Facility management may restructure activities and schedule as necessary.
  • Alcohol, drugs and banned substances are not permitted.
  • No bicycles, mopeds, roller skates/blades, skateboards, or animals with the exception of service animals for persons with disabilities will be allowed within the facility.
  • Tobacco, food, chewing gum, glass bottles, and cans are not permitted in the tee box or greens areas
  • No food or drink is permitted on outdoor mats or on the inside turf floor area.
  • No announcements, fliers, posters, etc. may be affixed to building walls. Any item to be posted must be approved by the Golf Center Management Office.
  • Parking - Everyone must park in a legal parking spot. No one should be parked on the grass, in the lanes or on Campus Drive. Lanes MUST be kept open for emergency vehicles. Parking along the walkway and next to the building is prohibited.

MULVIHILL GOLF LEARNING CENTER GUIDELINES
Please use the following guidelines when practicing your skills at the Mulvihill Golf Learning Center. These guidelines will be strictly enforced for the safety of all Golf Center users.

  • Practice swings are only allowed in the tee area.
  • Keep safe distance behind tee line,watch for swinging clubs.
  • No one is allowed in front of the tee line.
  • Use only designated hitting areas
  • For all range shots mats must be used. Unless authorized for grass area.
  • Chipping is only allowed in the direction of the chipping green and sand bunker.
  • Aim only at targetgreens or the center of the range.
  • Removal of balls from the range or green areas is prohibited. Range balls are the property of Lehigh University and are for use on the range and green areas only.
  • Picking up topped balls for reuse is prohibited.
  • Immediately report any facility related injury or facility/equipment irregularity to the attendant on duty.
  • Please return empty baskets to the ball dispensing area.
  • Facility management reserves the right to restrict people from using any or all of the practice areas if conditions or schedule necessitate.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
RAIN:
We will try not to close the golf center unless there are long periods of sustained rains.Meaning that rain persists for most if not all of the operational hours.There may be times that we are open and have a few showers during the day but we will try and remain open if the forecast is calling for the weather to clear up.
LIGHTNING:
When there is lightning or have a credible report of lightning, when severe weather conditions prevail or if the radar imagery, from the TV, suggests that severe weather is imminent everyone will be cleared from the driving range and the chipping/putting areas.Everyone will be advised to take cover in the nearest safe place such as their cars or move inside the Golf Center.Facility usage will not resume until 30 minutes from the last visible lightning strike and when the threat of lightning has passed.

CLOSURE OF WET AREAS
At times the Grass Tee Box and the Short Game area may be closed due to extremely wet conditions.Signs will be posted in these areas to indicate when they are closed for use.Sorry for any inconvenience.
