Background: Toomey is a forward from New Providence, New Jersey. Before Lehigh, he played for Seton Hall Prep and the New Jersey Rockets, where he competed at the USPHL Premier and 18U AAA levels. During the 2021-22 season, Toomey recorded 48 points in 40 games with the Rockets and also posted 14 points for Seton Hall Prep. He chose Lehigh for its academic rigor and the opportunity to pursue the Integrated Business and Engineering program while continuing his hockey career.
Career at Lehigh: As a freshman (2023-24), Toomey appeared in 31 games, recording 4 goals and 16 assists for 20 points as a defenseman. He helped Lehigh capture the ECHA Championship and was named Defensive Playoff MVP. In his sophomore season (2024-25), he played in 29 games, posting 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points. Toomey transitioned from defense to forward during his junior campaign (2025-26), appearing in 27 games and recording a career-high 9 goals along with 8 assists for 17 points.
Favorite Lehigh Hockey Memory: Winning the ECHA Championship during his freshman season (2023-24) and being named Defensive Playoff MVP.
