In a hard-fought battle at the Steel Ice Center, MD2 Lehigh University fell just short against MD2 George Mason University, taking a 2-1 loss in overtime. After two scoreless periods filled with stellar netminding, Lehigh broke the deadlock early in the third frame when Reed Powers capitalized on a power play at the 2:35 mark, set up by assists from Aiden Eisenberg and Nathan Wolk. George Mason answered back late in the third period with a goal from Ben Krug to force extra time, where Christopher Ryan netted the game-winner just 2:26 into overtime for the Patriots. Goaltender Von Larson put on a heroic performance in net for Lehigh, stopping 35 of 37 shots in the overtime loss, while Timofei Korolev picked up the victory for George Mason with a 43-save effort.
