Giving Day + March Mania is Here

Giving Day + March Mania 2025 is underway!

For the second straight year, Lehigh Athletics and Lehigh Development and Alumni Relations have combined their annual giving day challenges into one, with the combined campaign kicking off at 12:01 this morning and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26. Giving Day + March Mania is a way for Lehigh Alumni, families, and friends to demonstrate their passion and support for their favorite Lehigh varsity sport.

Philanthropic support from our Lehigh Athletics family has always been a crucial piece of our goal to achieving distinctive success both in and beyond competition. Incremental financial support from alumni, family and friends is needed in order for teams to compete for championships, and operate a program of distinction year after year. Support from our community allows teams to hire staff, travel for competition, purchase equipment and uniforms, and provide development activities for our student-athletes to become stronger and successful. We want our programs to be equal to the level of excellence that is Lehigh... but we need your help!

Gifts may go to one of Lehigh's 25 Division I varsity sports programs; and/or the Dean's Fund for Athletics Excellence, which includes maintaining obligations to gender equity, and providing resources for the student-athlete development programs including academic support, leadership development, sports performance, and sports medicine; and/or Campus Athletics, which includes fitness equipment enhancement, instructional and recreational programs or club sports.

"For our athletes, coaches, and staff, the Giving Day + March Mania campaign has grown into the most important annual giving opportunity of the year and is a chance to show your pride in Lehigh Athletics by making a gift toward the areas of athletics that are most meaningful to you," said Lehigh Goodman Dean of Athletics Jeremy Gibson. "In this changing climate of college athletics, we need your support more than ever to help us fulfill our goals of developing leaders and competing for championships! Based on the extraordinary success last year, the bar has been set very high - we know you can help us meet that challenge! We eagerly anticipate witnessing your competitiveness as the battles around alumni participation, unlocking matching grants, and sport vs. sport totals play out once again... Go Lehigh!"

One of the elements of previous March Mania campaigns has been competition among sport program alumni groups. This year, Athletics has issued two challenges. The Athletics Alumni Challenge is scored according to the percentage of participation in giving among each of our varsity sports' alumni bodies during the Giving Day + March Mania campaign. The top five varsity sports alumni bodies will earn extra funds for their programs.

Here's the breakdown:
Highest alumni participation rate by sport unlocks -
1st - $3,000
2nd - $2,500
3rd - $2,000
4th - $1,500
5th - $1,000

The Top Donors & Dollars Challenge the sport team with the top dollars, and the sport team with the top donors will earn extra funds for their respective programs.

Total Prize Money - $12,000

Several generous donors have offered additional matching and challenge gifts supporting specific varsity sport programs. These additional matches and challenges unlock additional funding for the programs they support. Matches and Challenges can be found in the Matches & Challenges section of the Athletics page as well as on their corresponding sport-specific and Dean's Fund pages.

You may make a gift on the Giving Day + March Mania site by clicking the "make a gift" button. Using our secure online giving form, you can make a one-time gift using a VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Venmo, PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. To make a gift to Athletics at checkout, you may select one or multiple areas in Athletics to give. Under "affiliation" make sure you select the "Athletics Alumni" affiliation if you participated in a varsity sport and the sport you participated in so your gift(s) may be included in our Athletics Alumni giving challenge. Not an alumni of a varsity sport, don't worry, your gift will still count towards our overall donors and dollars challenge!

Donations may also be mailed. Please make checks payable to "Lehigh University" and indicate the sport(s) program(s), Dean's Fund for Athletics Excellence or Campus Athletics and "GD + MM" on the memo line of the check.
