
Lehigh Sweeps Tri-Meet

WEST CHESTER, PA. - Lehigh women's swimming and diving swept West Chester and Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon at Graham Natatorium to open up the season with three straight wins. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Golden Rams 112-108 while picking up a 160-62 victory over the Huskies.Â
After winning four events Friday night, Willa Werwaiss picked up right where she left off, winning all three events she competed in on Saturday. Werwaiss won the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.48), the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.98) and was on the winning 400-yard medley relay team alongside Zoe Davies, Clara Moschella and Caitlin Deitch. They came in first with a time of 3:53.26
Mairin Ludwig had another successful day, winning the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.53) while taking second place in the 200-yard IM (2:07.97). Teammate Eliza Meth was right behind Ludwig in the 200-yard IM as she came in third place with a time of 2:11.61. Meth also had a second-place finish of her own, coming in second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.29.
Senior diver Sarah Gill had another incredible performance on the boards, picking up the first sweep of the season with wins in the one-meter dive and the three-meter dive. Gill won the one-meter dive with 241.20 points and took home a first-place finish in the three-meter dive with 236.33 points.Â
Kate Whitaker took home a pair of third-place finishes in the one-meter dive (195.53) and the three-meter dive (227.70).Â
Senior Natalie Martin had a couple of second-place finishes, coming in second in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:59.93) and second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.23).
The Mountain Hawks will have a break before taking on Colgate on Nov. 2 in Hamilton, N.Y. Â
