Campus Athletics would like to announce the hiring of Josh Hand who begins his duties immediately as Head Coach, Club Ice Hockey D-I ACHA. Josh brings over 20 years of experience as a player, coach, administrator and has coached both men's and women's hockey and directed student focused programming in higher education.

Obtaining a level 5 USA Hockey coaching certification and AFAA personal training license, Hand's philosophy of developing students academically, personally and athletically is truly a key component of what aligns within the University Principles, Campus Athletics Mission, Vision and Values as well as an educator to young people.
As a student athlete, Hand's hockey career began in the DVHL with the now defunct Timberline Wolfpack. He went on to play Junior A for the prestigious Boston junior Bulldogs and was selected to attend the Dallas Star (NHL) prospects camp where he was recruited as a scholarship player for Concordia College (NCAA).

After his college career, from 2010 to 2013, Josh served as an Assistant coach at the Pennsylvania State University. During his stint, he served as the Head Coach for the ACHA D2 Club and the Assistant Coach to the Men's Ice Hockey ACHA D1 Club program. As the program transitioned from club to varsity D1, Josh was elevated to assistant coach with focused responsibilities on goalies.
Josh served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Mahattanville College and secured a Master of Science in Business Leadership from Manhattanville, College in 2015. He continued his coaching and education as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Nichols College earning a Master of Science in Business Administration in 2017.

Currently, Hand is Co-Owner of Ascension Hockey that annually recruits over a 100 players aspiring to move up to their level of play, works with individual athletes to create player profiles and provide counsel on appropriate opportunities for consideration based on skill and ability

Josh Hand is a Lehigh University employee and currently serves as the Associate Director of Development Athletics Annual Giving Officer.
