Leufroy and Cohen serving as team captains in 2018-19

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball senior Kyle Leufroy and junior Jordan Cohen are serving as team captains this season, helping provide leadership for the Mountain Hawks who have started the year with a strong 4-2 record. Leufroy and Cohen have made strong contributions, on and off the court. Leufroy is second on the team in scoring (13.8 points per game) while Cohen is third (11.0).
"We really place a high premium on leadership, not only in our basketball program, but also within our athletic department," said Lehigh head coach Brett Reed. "We are pleased to welcome both Kyle Leufroy and Jordan Cohen as captains for the 2018-19 season. In each of their cases, they have had a lot of experience within our program. They've had exposure to some great leadership principles that should allow them to be well prepared to step into that role and influence their team and team members towards some great things this year."
A second-year captain, Leufroy posted double-figure points in each of his first five games of 2018-19. In the season opener at Monmouth, he eclipsed 1,000 career points while tying a career-high 23 points vs. Marist and setting a new career high with 25 points at Siena. Leufroy has filled up the stat sheet, leading the team in rebounding (7.0) while adding 2.5 assists per contest.
Cohen has enjoyed a strong start to the season, posting double-figure points in all but one contest thus far. Included were 15-point performances at Monmouth and Siena while last time out at No. 12 Kansas State, Cohen had 11 points and a career-high eight assists. Cohen leads the team in assists (23) while he's also averaging 4.0 rebounds per contest.
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Saturday, Dec. 1, when they host Arkansas State at 2 p.m. in Stabler Arena. Tickets are available online and may be purchased by clicking here. Saturday will feature a Toys for Tots Drive as fans who bring a new, unwrapped toy will receive $1 admission into the game.
