
Donaldson Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh volleyball freshman outside hitter Jessica Donaldson has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week as announced on Tuesday. Donaldson helped lead the Mountain Hawks to three victories over Patriot League opponents last week while leading the team in kills.
Donaldson had a brilliant performance in last Friday's 3-1 win at Navy as she recorded a season-high 21 kills to lead all players in the match. The freshman hit an efficient .349 for the match go along with her impressive kill total.
Donaldson contributed six kills while playing in two sets in last Wednesday's home victory over Lafayette. She finished the week with a team-leading nine kills to go along with a .300 hitting percentage in Saturday's 3-0 victory at Loyola.
For the week, Donaldson totaled 36 kills with an average of 4.00 kills per set in nine sets played. The freshman compiled a hitting percentage of .325 as she committed just 11 attack errors on 77 total attempts.
Sophomore setter Megan Polak earned a Patriot League Honorable Mention honor for her fine performance last week. Polak averaged 10.5 assists per set in 10 total sets played, while also averaging 2.5 digs and 1.00 kills per set for the week. The sophomore led all players in each match in assists as she totaled 105 for the week, including a week-high 46 against Navy.
The Mountain Hawks currently lead the Patriot League standings as they opened conference play with a 3-0 record, their first undefeated opening week since 2014.
Lehigh will continue PL play with two matches this weekend beginning with a home contest against Bucknell on Friday at 7 p.m. The Brown and White will then travel to Colgate on Saturday for a 4 p.m. match.
