The Lehigh Ice Hockey Team made a statement to the other teams in the ECHA by beating Navy 7-3. The Mountain Hawks scored 6 power play goals and held Navy off the scoreboard on their power plays. Andrew Carlin faced 48 shots and was stellar in net only allowing only 3 goals.
Navy took a penalty early by interfering with Carlin in the goal crease. Lehigh made them pay on the power play as Joseph Ramondelli fed the puck to Andrew Clayton who shot the puck from the point. The rebound came out to Chris Ramondelli who put Lehigh up 1-0. The remaining first period went back and forth as Navy outshot Lehigh 16 to 8.
Navy tied the score early in the 2nd. Lehigh went up 2-1 on the power play when Clayton shot the puck and Harrison Yaste buried the rebound. The Mountain Hawks stretched the lead on another power play goal by Yaste. This time, Clayton fed the puck to Kevin McGee on the left side. McGee found an open Yaste in the high slot and he put it past the Navy goalie. Navy got one back late in the period but committed another penalty. With 30 seconds left in the period, Clayton found Chris Ramondelli open in front of the net and he made no mistake, finishing out the period with a 2 goal lead at 4-2. McGee got the second assist.
Early in the third period, Navy got called for a penalty and once again, Chris Ramondelli made them pay with his third goal of the night off a rebound from the Navy goalie. Yaste assisted.  Navy closed the gap to 5-3 with a goal. Lehigh spent the next 4 minutes successfully killing off penalties. With 6 minutes to go, Lehigh capitalized on another power play to put the game out of reach at 6-3. Henry Brooks found a rebound off of shots from Andres Dugas and Nick Warren and put the puck in the net. Brooks completed the 7-3 win with an empty net tally.
Lehigh goes 8-3-1 on the season and 3-1 in the ECHA.
