LEWISBURG, Pa. – Six members of the Lehigh women's swimming and diving team reached championship finals and the 400 medley relay team closed the night with a school record performance as the Mountain Hawks wrapped-up day three of the Patriot League Championship Friday at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
 
The Mountain Hawks had at least one A finalist in all five individual events contested Friday. Lehigh sits in 3rd place with 317 points after three days of competition.
 
In the final women's event of the day the team of senior Alissa Leung, junior Melissa Feeney, senior Mary Caitlin Samuels and sophomore Kaitlyn Ruffing broke their own school record set last year with a time of 3:49.59, good for fourth place in the 400 medley relay.
 
Leung, Feeney and Samuels all reached championship finals in individual events as well.
 
Samuels led the way for four Mountain Hawks who scored in the 100 fly, finishing sixth with a time of 56.42 seconds. Sophomore Kelly Carroll won the B final to finish ninth overall in 56.60. Freshmen Rachel Rider and Sydney Bornstein finished 15th and 16th, respectively with Rider clocking in at 57.58 and Bornstein posting a time of 57.92.
 
Leung finished seventh in the 100 back with a time of 56.47. Rider scored points in the event as well, finishing 16th in a time of 58.10.
 
Feeney also delivered a seventh place finish with hers coming in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.22. Senior Kim Weyand clocked in at 1:06.52 to finish 13th overall.
 
Junior Courtney Patterson delivered the top individual performance of the day for Lehigh, finishing third in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:22.84. Patterson was the defending Patriot League champion in the event.
 
Lehigh had three point scorers in the 200 free. Sisters Carolyn and Julianne Koch both reached the A final with Carolyn finishing fourth with a time of 1:50.17 and Julianne finishing in fifth at 1:50.50. Freshman Meghan Thompson won the B final, finishing ninth overall in 1:50.53.
 
Navy maintains a 517-447 lead over Bucknell in the team race. Lehigh is just ten points ahead of fourth place Army and 29 ahead of fifth place Boston University.
 
The Patriot League Championships conclude Saturday from Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium. Preliminaries begin at 10:30 a.m. with finals once again set for 6 p.m.
