BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the 150th meeting of college football's most-played rivalry now less than two months away, Lehigh Athletics and D&D Publishing have announced that a special 150th Game Edition of the popular Legends of Lehigh-Lafayette book is now on sale.
Â
Lehigh alumni Todd Davidson and Bob Donchez originally published Legends of Lehigh-Lafayette in 1995. Newly updated in 2014, this special 150th Game Edition is a 315-page collector's edition publication that brings to life the historical accounts of this great rivalry.
Â
The 8 1/2-by-11 hardbound book features more than 125 rare photographs, light-hearted cartoons and humorous anecdotes, describing the events on and off the field. The 150th Game Edition of Legends of Lehigh-Lafayette features all the same great content from the original publication plus an update chronicling the Rivalry games from 1995 through 2013, while also previewing the 150th game, scheduled for November 22 at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Â
The book contains everything you wanted to know about The Rivalry, and then some.
Â
"Lafayette-Lehigh is a rivalry that truly transcends time," Chris Fowler, host of ESPN's College Gameday, and the lead play-by-play announcer for the network's college football coverage said when the book was initially released in 1995. "It's pure. Players are motivated by the love of the game and perhaps the hatred of their rivals. Bob and Todd chronicle the rivalry's rich history, its memorable moments and colorful characters with insight and humor. Legends is a complete and objective look at one of college football's great rivalries. It's a must for any fan of the Leopards or Engineers."
Â
The 150th game edition of Legends of Lehigh-Lafayette is available for purchase now at LehighGear.com, the official online store of Lehigh Athletics. Cost of the book is $75.
Â
In addition, preorders are now being accepted for Lehigh-Lafayette: Celebrating 150 in NYC; a collector's item, hardbound coffee table pictorial book capturing the events and activities commemorating the 150th Lehigh-Lafayette game, which will be available in early 2015.
Â
The cost for Lehigh-Lafayette: Celebrating 150 in NYC is $39; or both books can be bundled together for the low price of $99.
