HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team fought a tough battle, falling to the Raiders of Colgate Saturday afternoon with a close score of 147-139, moving its record to 3-2. Â

The Mountain Hawks started off the meet coming in second place in the 400 medley relay (3:55.76), yet beat Colgate in the last relay of the meet, the 200 free, with a time of 1:36.71.

Lehigh saw winning performances from freshman Sydney Bornstein in the 200 butterfly (2:07.38), sophomore Kaitlyn Ruffing in the 50 free (23.78) and 100 free (52.34), sophomore Kelly Carroll in the 100 butterfly (58:63), and junior Courtney Patterson in the 200 IM (2:08.34.)

Second place finishes include Patterson's 1000 free (10:48.36), junior Carolyn 200 free (1:54.85), senior Alissa Leung's 200 back (2:06.99), and senior Kim Weyand's 200 breaststroke (2:28.54.)

Freshman diver Emily Speakman finished the day in third place in the one-meter dive and in first place in the three-meter dive.

The Mountain Hawks compete again on November 21 when they take on the Leopards of Lafayette at Lehman College, located in the Bronx, N.Y. That meet will happen on the eve of the 150th Lehigh-Lafayette football game at Yankee Stadium.
