Lehigh 0-2 in weekend trip to Rhode Island

The Lehigh mens hockey program had high hopes as they travelled to Kingston Rhode Island last weekend to face the nationally ranked University of Rhode Island Rams. The Mountain Hawks were looking to rebound after a loss the previous weekend to Villanova. URI, ranked 17th in the nation, was coming off back to back wins against Towson. The URI offense overpowered Lehigh on Friday, blanking them 9-0. As Saturday evening arrived, the men were definitely not wanting a repeat of the performance the night before. The score was 3-0 URI until the 13:35 mark of the 2nd period when sophomore Chris Ramondelli lit the lamp, with the assists going to Kevin McGee and Scott Mogerley. The Mountain Hawks were down 3-1 as the 3rd period began. URI came out and scored two goals, putting Lehigh down 5-1, until the 17:20 mark when sophomore Kevin McGee was able to sneak one past URI goalie Caleb Neal. The McGee goal was assisted by freshman Matt Blakley and sophomore Joe Ramondelli. This was unfortuneately the last of the Lehigh scoring. URI scored once more at the 17:46 mark, and the Rams came out on top 6-2.
