BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's basketball team (15-12, 8-5 PL) never trailed against Navy (14-13, 7-6 PL) Wednesday en route to a 57-48 victory. With the win, Lehigh clinched at least a #3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and guaranteed the Mountain Hawks a home quarterfinal game. Lehigh was led by senior Alexa Williams' double-double of 13 points and season-high 14 rebounds while junior Kelly Peterson added a game-high 14 points.

“It was a big win for us and it's important to keep in the hunt for a second seed and a chance at a pair of home Patriot League Tournament games,” said head coach Sue Troyan. “Our seniors stepped up tonight and Alexa was monstrous inside, rebounding and finishing around the basket. We got a lot of great contributions.”

Holding a two-point lead at halftime, Lehigh came out of the second half and slowly built its lead up to 12 with 7:30 to go in the game. Navy didn't go away however as the Mids cut Lehigh's lead to just five with 1:40 left but Lehigh's defense came up strong, holding Navy without a point for that final 1:40 en route to victory.
