BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A spot in the Patriot League championship game is on the line on Sunday evening as top-seeded Lehigh meets No. 4 American in the semifinals of the 2010 Patriot League Tournament at Stabler Arena.  Lehigh downed its first round opponent, No. 8 Army, by a score of 64-45 on Wednesday at home in a game in which the Mountain Hawks outscored the Black Knights 46-25 after halftime.  2010 Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year C.J. McCollum netted 17 of his game-high 19 points in the second half and was joined in double digits by Michael Ojo (13), Zahir Carrington (12) and Marquis Hall (10).  American defeated the fifth seeded Navy Midshipmen at home by a score of 62-60 on Wednesday as the Eagles won their ninth consecutive quarterfinal game in the P.L. Tournament.

Lehigh held Army to 45 points in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, which were the fewest points the Mountain Hawks have allowed since Colgate scored 40 on February 18, 2009.  The 45 points were also the fewest Lehigh has allowed in the postseason since Colgate scored 44 in the 2006 quarterfinals in Worcester, Massachusetts.  The Mountain Hawks are currently second in the league in field goal percentage defense (42.5%).

Dating back to the 2004 Patriot League championship game, the last seven games played between Lehigh and American inside of Stabler Arena have been decided by only 7.4 points.  The Mountain Hawks are 4-3 in those contests with five of the games decided by fewer than ten points.

Sunday’s game will take place at Stabler Arena with tip-off slated for 8:05.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by logging onto Lehighsports.com or at the arena box office prior to tip-off.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for seniors and students with a valid student ID.  Lehigh students and faculty/staff must purchase tickets to the game because it is a postseason event.  All ID card holders of any kind will be asked to purchase a ticket to the game.  Season ticket holders are guaranteed their regular season seats and should purchase by phone or by visiting Grace Hall.
