WEST POINT, N.Y. – After playing in a close match against Holy Cross on Friday night, the Mountain Hawks returned to the court on Saturday afternoon to face the Army Black Knights at the Gillis Field House.  Lehigh stuck with Army for the first game and the beginning part of the second, but could not hold on for the remainder of the match as the Black Knights swept Lehigh 3-0.  Game scores were 30-23, 30-19 and 30-15.

Lehigh, 0-21 overall and 0-7 in league play, remained just about point-for-point through the first part of the match, however, Army was able to score seven unanswered points late in the second game to shift the momentum completely to its side.

The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a quick lead in the third game.  However, the Black Knights regained momentum and were able to build a ten-point cushion midway through the third game.

Senior Michelle Schwendenmann recorded a match-high 11 kills while hitting a team-best .240.  Classmate Cassidy Maumus had a match-best 17 digs.

Lehigh returns to action on Friday night when it travels to Washington, D.C. to face the American Eagles for the second time of the season.  Match time is set for 7:00 pm.
