Lehigh returns from break with matchup vs. top-ten Huskies

12/20/2005 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After taking a break to complete final exams, Lehigh returns to action on Friday evening versus No. 7/9 Washington, the first time in school history the Brown and White has played two teams ranked within the top-ten (Villanova) in the same season.  The Mountain Hawks are riding a season-best two-game winning streak and look to climb back to .500 in Seattle, but it won’t be easy, as the Huskies are off to their best start in three decades and currently are riding a nation-best 30-game winning streak at home.  The game versus Washington marks Lehigh head coach Billy Taylor’s 100th career game on the sidelines, and his first-ever meeting versus a team out of the Pac-10.

Sophomore Bryan White led Lehigh in scoring versus Monmouth, with a career-high 18 points, and the Florida native was joined in double figures by juniors Jose Olivero and Kyle Neptune.  Lehigh is now a perfect 4-0 when three players score ten or more points.  The Brown and White also placed a trio of players in double figures versus Coppin State (Fischman, Neptune, Olivero), Eastern (Neptune, Mgebroff, Page) and Harvard (Neptune, Olivero, White).

Friday’s game is scheduled to tip-off at 8:00 Eastern Time from Bank of America Arena.  The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net Northwest with Paul Sunderland and Larry Farmer.  The contest will also be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 AM as well as lehighsports.com with streaming audio provided by Yahoo! Sports.  Jeff Tourial will handle the broadcast duties.
