LARAMIE, Wyo. – After a long, busy day of travel that began in the wee hours of the morning, Lehigh arrived at its final destination on Saturday, which is the 2005 BCA Invitational, held on the campus of the University of Wyoming.  The Mountain Hawks held practice at the Arena-Auditorium, as they prepare for their season opener on Sunday evening.  Lehigh took the time to adjust to the two-hour time change, as well as the increased elevation, which is well over 7,000 feet.  Senior tri-captain Mitch Gilfillan offered his thoughts on the trip.  “Trips like this really bring the team together.  It builds chemistry and allows us the chance to grow closer both on and off of the floor.”

After their flight landed in Denver, Colorado, the Mountain Hawks made the three-hour trek to Laramie, and were treated to beautiful scenery that consisted of rolling plains and snow covered mountains.  Junior guard Adam Hyncik spoke for the entire team when he said they were in awe.  “The drive here was just unreal,” Hyncik said.  “I know I can speak for a lot of the guys in saying we’ve never seen anything like it.  A lot of us will never have the chance to come back to Wyoming so that makes this trip a little more unique.”

Now that the preseason has come to a close, Gilfillan, Hyncik and the rest of the Brown and White are anxious to tip-off the new season.  “It’s good to be put in this environment with such a great field of schools here,” Gilfillan explained.  “For us to be in this situation to go up against such great teams, it’s only going to benefit us later in the season.”

Hyncik added, “We’ve been working hard all preseason and we’re very focused on what we have to get done.  It’s exciting to open our season in the BCA Invitational against a Big-Ten opponent for the second consecutive season.”

Lehigh’s season opener versus Northwestern gets underway at 10:00 PM Eastern time from the Arena-Auditorium.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 AM with pre-game coverage beginning at 9:30, and will also be carried live on lehighsports.com with streaming audio provided by Yahoo! Sports.  Tom Fallon will call all of the action.
