Lehigh opens season on Sunday versus Northwestern
11/12/2005 12:00:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Lehigh and Northwestern both had similar numbers a season ago, some better than others. Lehigh ranked in the top-15 nationally in two defensive categories (scoring defense and FG% defense), and Northwestern ranked third in the rugged Big-Ten in scoring defense. On offense, the Mountain Hawks took 541 shots from beyond the arc, while the Wildcats hoisted 566, with both squads connecting on less than 35%. The low shooting percentage resulted in both teams struggling to score, with Lehigh averaging 61.5 points (7th in PL) and Northwestern scoring at a 59.0 points per game clip (11th in Big Ten).
Sunday’s game is scheduled for a 10:00 PM Eastern tip-off from the Arena-Auditorium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 AM beginning at 9:30 with Tom Fallon calling the action.
