Bethlehem, PA – Sophomore guard Jose Olivero scored a career high 29 points as Lehigh won its second consecutive contest by a 60-50 score over Dartmouth at Stabler Arena on Saturday evening.  Lehigh now sits at 2-2 on the season and 26-3 all-time at Stabler under head coach Billy Taylor, including a school record 15-game winning streak.  The Big Green falls to 1-1 on the young 2004-05 season.

Lehigh connected on 47 percent of its shots in the first half, including 55 percent from beyond the arc leading to a 38-25 lead after the first twenty minutes of action.  Olivero led the Mountain Hawks with 15 first half points on 5 of 10 shooting, including three shots from downtown.  Junior Joe Knight added seven tallies on three of six shooting and also registered two steals.  As a team the Mountain Hawks recorded eight steals and forced ten Dartmouth turnovers.

The Big Green was led by Leon Pattman and his six points on 3 of 5 shooting in he first twenty minutes.  Dartmouth shot well also, hitting on 46 percent of its shots, but took eight less shots than Lehigh and had five more turnovers.

In the second half Lehigh was able to keep Dartmouth at bay with timely shooting and tenacious defense.  Every time the Big Green tried to make a run, Lehigh responded with defense and timely shooting.  Dartmouth did manage to cut a 15-point Mountain Hawk lead down to six, but Olivero and his teammates would not allow the Big Green to get any closer.
